On Friday evening, 7 October 2013, the Marianist scholastics had a rosary procession in honor of the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. The procession included the Shrine of Our Lady of Vailankanni and of Our Lady of Good Counsel.

Bro. Dan's Departure
On Friday evening, 4 October 2013, the scholastics hosted a gathering to celebrate the contributions Bro. Daniel Stupka has made to the liturgical music program at Deepahalli and to bid him farewell as he leaves for the novitiate and, then, to the USA. A good time was had by all.
Paradigm Shift
The unfortunate situation for contemporary active religious orders is that our identity has been built on ministry. With Vatican II, the religious priestly ministry has been absorbed by the diocesan priesthood in the parish and the religious lay ministry has been absorbed by the laity and the social services of the political state. Contemplative life as the new center of religious life -- whether clerical or lay -- is a paradigm shift for most active religious orders.

Aah! No school, a sunny day, and a cricket bat. The Marianist scholastics and aspirants played cricket on the sunny afternoon of Foundation Day 2013, the perfect Indian summer. The winner? The scholastics.

Foundation Day - 2013
On Wednesday, 2 October 2013, the scholastics and aspirants at Deepahalli Educational Centre celebrated the Foundation Day of the Society of Mary. Fr. Jack McGrath presided at the Eucharist.
